Upstream takes it up a gear in Barcelona!

Upstream has celebrated another strong year of growth with an eye-catching presence at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Upstream featured prominently at the exhibition with a slick, custom-built stand that included smart phone product demos, videos of its most famous projects around the world and a brand new BMW Z4 offered by BMW, a long standing Upstream prize partner.

The stand was designed to highlight the experience of an Upstream Mobile Marketing Promotion: the BMW Z4 represented the aspirational prizes offered, the video demonstrated some of the most successful TV advertisements that Upstream have helped produce, and the iPhones featured a fully interactive demonstration of the user experience of an Upstream Promotion.

“2009 was a very successful year for Upstream, and we wanted to celebrate this in style at the MWC,” said Marco Veremis, President of Upstream. “The stand has created a strong buzz within the exhibition, and it’s been an excellent magnet for us in presenting our company to the most important decision makers in the mobile world. We have been delighted with the response from those that we’ve met for the first time at the exhibition, and our loyal customers who have come to visit us”

In 2009, Upstream continued to strengthen its position as one of the largest mobile marketing companies in the world with sales of over €40m. Upstream has expanded its 40 country footprint with new offices in Singapore, Beijing and Buenos Aires, and has successfully entered the African and Middle East regions with MTN Group and Globacom.

The year also saw Upstream expand its client portfolio even further with such clients as the T-Mobile group in Poland and Hungary, H3G in Italy, Vodafone in Greece and the Mediaset and Endemol Media Groups in Italy. In addition to this, repeat campaigns from clients such as Vodafone, America Movil, TIM, Cosmote, Eurovision and Nestlé in 30 countries, ensured that 2009 was the most successful year in Upstream’s history. The year even brought the first award for a Mobile Marketing Promotion, with Upstream receiving the MAMA Award for the “Best Use of Mobile in Driving New Revenue and Sales” for their project with O2 Czech Republic.
